## Analysis

AFTER FLYING AT AN ALTITUDE OF 300-500 FEET FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES THE PILOT INTENTIONAL LANDED ON A DIRT ROAD AND INQUIRED ABOUT DIRECTIONS TO THEIR INTENDED DESTINATION. THE PERSON THE PILOT SPOKE TO SAID SHE SAW THE ACFT BECOME AIRBORNE BUT IT WAS FLYING RATHER SLOWLY AND IT WAS MANEUVERING AT FENCE POST HEIGHT. WITHIN ANOTHER MINUTE OR TWO THE ACFT CRASHED ON THE ROAD AND CAME TO REST IN AN INVERTED ATTITUDE. BASED ON THE OCCUPANT AND CARGO WEIGHTS THE ACFT WAS BETWEEN 10 AND 60 POUNDS BEYOND ITS MAX ALLOWABLE GROSS WEIGHT.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19830506018039A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830506018039A), May 6, 1983: Cessna 152, Mohave Co, AZ, Substantial damage. Pilot attempted downwind high density altitude takeoff from dirt road. Aborted takeoff resulted in crash.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
