## Analysis

WHILE ON FINAL APCH FOR A NIGHT LANDING, THE ENG LOST POWER & THE PLT WAS UNABLE TO REACH THE RWY. SUBSEQUENTLY, DURING AN EMERGENCY LANDING, THE ACFT HIT THE TOP OF A CYCLONE FENCE, DAMAGING THE NOSE GEAR, THEN THE ACFT SLID INTO A BLAST BARRIER. AN ENG RUN-UP WAS MADE, & LATER, A TEARDOWN WAS PERFORMED TO CHECK THE CRANKSHAFT, BUT NO DEFICIENIES WERE FOUND.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19830918052319A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830918052319A), Sep 18, 1983: Cessna P210N, Burbank, CA, Substantial damage. Pilot claims loss of power caused collison with blast fence at end of runway. No engine discrepancy found.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
