## Analysis (aircraft 2)

THE PILOT OF N9465H HAD JUST DEPLANED HIS PASSENGERS AND WAS TAXIING TO THE SOUTHEAST SIDE OF THE AIRPORT WHEN THE AIRPLANE STRUCK THE EMPENNAGE OF N711MH, A HOMEBUILT STOLP-STARDUSTER SA300. N711MH WAS AT THE HOLD LINES OF RUNWAY 27R AWAITING TAKEOFF CLEARANCE. BOTH AIRPLANES WERE CONFIGURED WITH CONVENTIONAL LANDING GEAR (TAILDRAGGER TYPES). THE PILOT OF N9465H REPORTED THAT HE DID NOT SEE N711MH BECAUSE HIS AIRPLANE WAS A TAILDRAGGER NOR DID HE REPORT THAT HE USED 'S' TURNING PROCEDURES WHILE TAXIING.

## Other investigations on N9465H (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX92LA391](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX92LA391), Sep 17, 1992: Beech D17S (N9465H), Reno, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: THE PILOTS FAILURE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL DURING LANDING ROLLOUT. CONTRIBUTING TO THE ACCIDENT WAS A VARIABLE TAILWIND CONDITION AND THE SOFT, ROUGH NATURE OF THE TERRAIN.
