## Probable cause

TOTAL FAILURE OF THE LANDING GEAR TIRE. A MAJOR FACTOR WAS THE UNSUITABILITY OF THE TERRAIN AT THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Airframe/component/system failure/malfunction, takeoff - roll/run
  - landing gear,tire - failure,partial (cause)
- Loss of control - on ground/water, takeoff - roll/run
  - ground loop/swerve - inadvertent, pilot in command (contributing factor)
- Nose over, takeoff - roll/run

## Analysis

JUST AT LIFTOFF, THE RIGHT TIRE BLEW AND DIRECTIONAL CONTROL WAS LOST. RATHER THAN GOING TOTALLY OFF THE SIDES AND GOING DOWN A HILL, THE PILOT INTENTIONALLY NOSED THE AIRPLANE OVER TO THE INVERTED POSITION.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
