## Probable cause

1) INCORRECT CONTROL INPUT BY THE STUDENT PILOT AND 2) THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR'S INADEQUATE SUPERVISION OF HIS STUDENT. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR IN THIS ACCIDENT WAS THE UNFAVORABLE WIND CONDITIONS.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Roll over, landing - flare/touchdown
  - weather condition - unfavorable wind (contributing factor)
  - rotorcraft flight controls - improper use of, dual student (cause)
  - supervision - inadequate, pilot in command(cfi) (cause)

## Analysis

IN HIS WRITTEN STATEMENT, THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT STATED THAT HE AND HIS STUDENT WERE PRACTICING SLOPE LANDINGS. HE SAID THAT THE LEFT SKID WAS AGAINST THE SLOPE AND A GUST OF WIND SHIFTED THE HELICOPTER. HE SAID THAT THE STUDENT PILOT DID NOT APPLY THE CORRECT FLIGHT CONTROL INPUT AND THE HELICOPTER ROLLED OVER.

## Other investigations on N2302A (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
