## Probable cause

THE PILOT'S PREMATURE LIFTOFF WHICH RESULTED IN A STALL MUSH.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - in flight, takeoff - initial climb
  - weather condition - turbulence (contributing factor)
  - lift-off - premature, pilot in command (cause)
  - stall/mush - inadvertent, pilot in command
- In flight collision with terrain/water, descent - uncontrolled

## Analysis

DURING TAKEOFF FROM RUNWAY 09 THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF HIS AIRPLANE UPON CLIMBING TO 25 TO 30 FEET AGL. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, THE AIRPLANE BOUNCED BACK ONTO THE RUNWAY TWO TIMES, AND THE SECOND TIME IT TOUCHED DOWN IN A NOSE LOW ATTITUDE. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT DURING THE MISHAP HIS AIRSPEED 'SEEMED TO BE FLUCTUATING' AND THIS OCCURRENCE WAS POSSIBLY RELATED TO ENCOUNTERING TURBULENCE. THE ESTIMATED WIND WAS FROM 090 DEGREES AT 15 KNOTS. NO GUSTS WERE REPORTED.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
