## Analysis

AFTER THE STUDENT MADE A FULL STOP LANDING ON A 3000 FT RWY, HE STARTED TO TURN AROUND & BACK TAXI TO THE APCH END TO TAKEOFF; HOWEVER, THE INSTRUCTOR (CFI) TOLD HIM TO MAKE A SHORT FIELD TAKEOFF FROM WHERE HE HAD STOPPED. A TAKEOFF WAS INITIATED WITH ABOUT 1400 FT REMAINING. AT ABOUT 100 FROM THE END OF THE RWY, ROTATION WAS INITIATED. AS THE ACFT WAS ROTATED, THE STALL WARNING HORN SOUNDED. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, BRUSH WAS HEARD SCRAPING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE ACFT. THE CFI TOOK CONTROL & TRIED TO RECOVER FROM THE STALL, BUT THE ACFT AGAIN IMPACTED THE BRUSH & SUBSEQENTLY CAME TO REST ABOUT 300 YARDS PAST THE END OF THE RWY.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19840728035719A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19840728035719A), Jul 28, 1984: Piper PA38112, Nahunta, GA, Substantial damage. Tried to takeoff from a full stop on last part of runway. Wheels dragged on brush off runway end stalling aircraft.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
