## Probable cause

FAILURE OF THE INSTRUCOR PILOT (CFI) TO ASSURE THAT A TIMELY GO-AROUND WAS MADE. THE OBSTRUCTION (TRANSMISSION LINE) WAS A RELATED FACTOR.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- In flight collision with object, landing - aborted
  - object - wire,transmission (contributing factor)
  - go-around - delayed, pilot in command(cfi) (cause)
  - object - residence

## Analysis

THE INSTRUCTOR PLT (CFI) RPRTD THAT DURING A LANDING IN CALM WIND, THE SPEED SEEMED TO BE HIGHER THAN NORMAL, SO A GO-AROUND (ABORTED LANDING) WAS MADE. HOWEVER, DURING THE GO-AROUND, THE ACFT DID NOT CLIMB SUFFICIENTLY. SUBSEQUENTLY, IT STRUCK WIRES, CARTWHEELED & CAME TO REST ON AN UNOCCUPIED HOUSE TRAILER. NO PREIMPACT PART FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION WAS FOUND.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19900430012259A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19900430012259A), Apr 30, 1990: Univar 1081, Bushnell, FL, Substantial damage. Struck trees on belated go around from a short grass strip then hit wires and came to rest on empty house trailer.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
