## Probable cause

LOSS OF ENINE POWER DUE TO UNDETERMINED REASONS. CONTRIBUTING TO THE ACCIDENT WAS UNSUITABLE TERRAIN ENCOUNTEERED DURING THE FORCED LANDING.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of engine power, maneuvering - aerial application
  - reason for occurrence undetermined (cause)
- Forced landing, descent - emergency
- In flight collision with terrain/water, landing - flare/touchdown
  - unsuitable terrain or takeoff/landing/taxi area - encountered, pilot in command (contributing factor)
- Nose over, landing - flare/touchdown

## Analysis

WHILE MANEUVERING THE ENG LOST POWER. THE PLT LANDED THE ACFT IN A POND AND IT NOSED OVER AFTER TOUCHDOWN. THE ACFT WAS RECOVERED AND THE ENG AND CARBURETOR WERE OVERHAULED WHICH REVEALED NO EVIDENCE OF FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION. NO DETERMINATION COULD BE MADE AS TO THE REASON FOR THE LOSS OF ENG POWER.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
