## Probable cause

LOSS OF CONTROL IN FLIGHT DUE TO PREMATURE FLARE BY THE PILOT RESULTING IN INADVERTENT STALL/MUSH, AND FAILURE OF THE PILOT TO RECOVER FROM THE BOUNCED LANDING.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - in flight, landing - flare/touchdown
  - level off - premature, pilot in command (cause)
  - lack of total experience, pilot in command (contributing factor)
  - stall/mush - inadvertent, pilot in command (cause)
- Hard landing, landing - flare/touchdown
  - recovery from bounced landing - not performed, pilot in command (cause)

## Analysis

THE AIRPLANE STALLED, TOUCHED DOWN, BOUNCED, THEN LANDED HARD ON THE NOSE LANDING GEAR AFTER THE PLT FLARED THE ACFT TOO HIGH.
