## Analysis

WITH THE WIND AT 5 KTS DURING A SPRAYING OPERATION, THE PLT WAS FLYING A CIRCULAR PATTERN TO DISTRIBUTE THE CHEMICAL BECAUSE IT WAS ADHERING TO THE WINDSCREEN REDUCING HIS VISIBILITY. DURING A SPRAY PASS THE RT MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEEL SEPARATED AFTER COLLISION WITH AN IRRIGATION PIPE. THE FLT DIVERTED TO A SUITABLE ARPT AND THE ACFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED AFTER TOUCHDOWN.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19910810033049A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19910810033049A), Aug 10, 1991: Airtrc AT502, Cleveland, MS, Substantial damage. Windshield became covered with spray chemical. Severed a wheel impacting an irrigation pipe. More damage on landing

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
