## Probable cause

LOSS OF ENGINE POWER DUE TO UNDETERMINED REASONS AND THE UNSUITABLE TERRAIN ENCOUNTERED DURING THE FORCED LANDING.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of engine power, cruise - normal
  - reason for occurrence undetermined, pilot in command (cause)
- On ground/water collision with object, descent - emergency
  - object - tree(s)
  - unsuitable terrain or takeoff/landing/taxi area - encountered, pilot in command (cause)

## Analysis

WHILE MANEUVERING THE ENG QUIT PRODUCING POWER. THE RT WING SEPARATED AFTER COLLIDING WITH A TREE DURING THE LANDING ROLL; THEREFORE, NO DETERMINATION COULD BE MADE IF THE SUPPLY WAS CONTAMINATED. THE REMAINING FUEL SUPPLY WAS CHECKED FOR CONTAMINANTS; NONE WERE FOUND. THE ENG WAS STARTED & FOUND TO OPERATE NORMALLY. NO DETERMINATION COULD BE MADE AS TO THE REASON FOR THE LOSS OF ENG POWER.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
