## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of engine power(total) - nonmechanical, approach - vfr pattern - final approach
  - fuel tank selector position - improper, copilot/second pilot (cause)
  - judgment - poor, pilot in command (cause)
- Forced landing, landing - flare/touchdown
- On ground/water encounter with terrain/water, landing - roll
  - terrain condition - dirt bank/rising embankment (contributing factor)
- Gear collapsed, landing - roll

## Analysis

THE PILOTS ABORTED A LANDING BECAUSE OF SUSPECTED LANDING GEAR PROBLEMS. ON THE SUBSEQUENT APPROACH THE ENGINE STOPPED WHEN THE FUEL SELECTOR WAS CORRECTLY CHANGED BY ONE PILOT AND RESET INCORRECTLY BY THE OTHER PILOT. DURING THE FORCED LANDING THE AIRCRAFT COLLIDED WITH AN EMBANKMENT, DAMAGED THE PROP AND COLLAPSED THE LANDING GEAR.
