AN INSPECTION OF THE ACFT REVEALED A RESIDUAL AMT OF FUEL IN THE WING FUEL TANKS. ADDITIONAL INSPECTION OF THE ENG SYSTEMS REVEALED A QUANTITY OF WATER WITHIN THE CARBURETOR FUEL BOWL. THE PLT REPORTEDLY ENCOUNTERED A SIMULAR ENG FAULTERING ON THE FIRST LEG OF THE X-COUNTRY FLT. A GREATER FUEL QUANTITY WAS AVAILABLE ON THIS EARLIER LEG, AND NO TOTAL LOSS OF PWR WAS EXPERIENCED.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19850527021009A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19850527021009A), May 27, 1985: Cessna 152, Goddard, KS, Substantial damage. Lost power due to fuel exhaustion. Small amount of water in carburetor bowl. Nosed over during emergency landing.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
