## Probable cause

THE PILOT'S DECISION TO GO-AROUND WAS DELAYED AND CLEARANCE OF THE POWER LINES WAS NOT ATTAINED.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- In flight collision with object, go-around (vfr)
  - proper touchdown point - not attained, pilot in command (contributing factor)
  - go-around - delayed, pilot in command (cause)
  - object - wire,static (contributing factor)
  - clearance - not attained, pilot in command (cause)
- In flight collision with terrain/water, descent - uncontrolled

## Analysis

THE PLT SAID HE HAD HURRIED HIS APPROACH AND FELT HE WAS GOING TO LAND TOO FAR DOWN THE PVT SOD STRIP, SO PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN HE ELECTED TO GO-AROUND. THE ACFT, UNABLE TO ATTAIN SUFFICENT ALTITUDE, COLLIDED WITH POWER LINES AND DESCENDED UNCONTROLLED TO THE TERRAIN.
