- [Accident 19860924087549A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19860924087549A), Sep 24, 1986: Piper PA28161, Atlantic City, NJ, Substantial damage. The engine failed from fuel exhaustion. Landed in a marsh. The pilot failed to monitor fuel consumption.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
