THE ACFT DEPARTED DUTCHESS COUNTY AIRPORT, POUGHKEEPSIE, NY, AND HAD AN ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO INADEQUATE LUBRICATION. THE OIL FILTER WAS FOUND DISCONNECTED FROM THE ENGINE. AT DUTHESS COUNTY AIRPORT PARKING AREA, FRESH OIL WAS FOUND ON THE GRASS PARKING AREA AND TAXIWAY TO THE RWY USED BY N1207J FOR DEPARTURE. THE ENGINE FAILED 5 MINS AFTER TAKEOFF DUE TO OIL DEPLETION. THE RESULTANT STALL ENDED IN A STEEP RIGHT WING DOWN DESCENT AND IMPACT WITH THE TERRAIN. THE ACFT WAS DESTROYED BY IMPACT AND POST CRASH FIRE.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19861018087099A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19861018087099A), Oct 18, 1986: Gulstm 112, Beekman, NY, Destroyed. Aircraft stalled and impacted ground. Oil stains found at takeoff point. Suspect oil filter not installed properly

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
