## Analysis

THE CESSNA 145 AIRMASTER WAS ON A LOCAL PLEASURE FLIGHT AND RETURNED FOR A LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT WAS OBSERVED TO BOUNCE MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE RUNWAY, THEN PITCH UP WITH AN APPLICATION OF POWER. AT AN ALTITUDE OF 50 FT, THE WINGS WERE OBSERVED TO BEGIN ROCKING AND THEN THE AIRCRAFT DESCENDED IN A NOSE LOW, ROTATING ATTITUDE, STRIKING THE GROUND. THE AIRPLANE WAS NOT EQUIPPED WITH SHOULDER HARNESSES.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19891105044229A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19891105044229A), Nov 5, 1989: Cessna C145, Bayport, NY, Substantial damage. Bounced on landing, nose pitched up steeply, added power to go around, stalled and crashed on airport.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
