## Probable cause

THE PILOT TO MAINTAIN SUFFICENT FLYING SPEED FOR TAKEOFF WHEN STRONG WINDS WERE ENCOUNTERED.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- In flight encounter with weather, takeoff - roll/run
  - weather condition - unfavorable wind (cause)
  - airspeed - inadequate, pilot in command (cause)
- Overrun, takeoff - aborted
  - abort - performed, pilot in command (cause)
- Nose over, landing - roll

## Analysis

DURING AN ATTEMPTED TAKEOFF FROM A PRIVATE STRIP THE FLIGHT ENCOUNTERED VARIABLE WINDS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS UNABLE TO CONTINUE FLIGHT AT WHICH TIME THE PILOT PULLED POWER AND WHEEL BACK AND ABORTED TAKEOFF. AFTER TOUCHDOWN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED ROLLING UNTIL IT CROSSED THE RUNWAY END AND THE NOSE WHEEL CAUGHT IN THE DRIVEWAY MOUNT AND COLLAPSED. THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED INVERTED.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
