## Probable cause

THE PILOT'S IMPROPER RECOVERY FROM A BOUNCED LANDING AND HIS FAILIURE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL.

## Sequence of events

- Hard landing, landing - flare/touchdown
  - recovery from bounced landing - improper, pilot in command (cause)
- Loss of control - on ground/water, landing - roll
  - directional control - not maintained, pilot in command (cause)
- On ground/water collision with object, landing - roll
  - object - tree(s)

## Analysis

DURING A LANDING THE AIRPLANE BOUNCED AFTER TOUCHING DOWN ON THE MAIN LANDING GEAR. REALIZING THERE WAS A SLIGHT UPGRADE THE PILOT PULLED BACK ON THE YOKE AND LANDED ON ALL TIRES. THE AIRPLANE THEN GLIDED AND THE PILOT FELT THAT HE WAS TAXIING DOWN THE RUNWAY. THE AIRPLANE SLOWLY DRITED TO THE LEFT OFF THE RUNWAY AND COLLIDED WITH A TREE. TWO PIECES OF THE FRONT WHEEL RIM WERE FOUND ON THE RUNWAY.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
