## Probable cause

LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL AFTER LANDING.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - on ground/water, landing - flare/touchdown
  - directional control - not maintained, pilot in command (cause)
- On ground/water encounter with terrain/water, landing - roll

## Analysis

DURING THE LANDING THE PILOT SAID SHE, '... TOUCHED DOWN SOFTLY ON THE MAIN GEAR BUT WHEN THE NOSE WHEEL TOUCHED DOWN, THE PLANE PULLED SHARPLY TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT TRIED TO CORRECT, BUT THE AIRPLANE RAN OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY INTO THE BRUSH. THE FAA FOUND TIRE MARKS WHICH INDICATED THE AIRPLANE TOUCHED DOWN ON THE LEFT MAIN GEAR AND STARTED MOVING TO LEFT. THE FAA FOUND NO DISCREPANCIES WITH THE LANDING GEAR, BRAKES, FLIGHT CONTROLS, AIRFRAME OR ENGINE.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
