## Probable cause

PREMATURE ROTATION AND AN INADVERTENT STALL. FACTORS INCLUDE LACK OF TOTAL EXPERIENCE IN THIS TYPE OF AIRCRAFT.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - in flight, climb
  - rotation - premature, pilot in command (contributing factor)
  - stall - inadvertent, pilot in command (contributing factor)
  - lack of total experience in type of aircraft, pilot in command (cause)
- In flight collision with terrain/water, descent - uncontrolled

## Analysis

DURING TAKE OFF AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER ROTATION THE PILOT HAD DIFFICULTY IN CONTROLLING THE AIRPLANE. HE SAID HE RETRACTED THE LANDING GEAR IN AN ATTEMPT TO GAIN SPEED. WITHESSES SAW THE AIRPLANE IN A NOSE HIGH ATTITUDE, ROLL LEFT AND RIGHT, STALL, THEN DESCEND TO THE GROUND. THE FAA INSPECTOR FOUND NO DISCREPANCIES WITH THE ENGINE OR THE AIRFRAME.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19901118051499A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19901118051499A), Nov 18, 1990: Beech B36TC, Caldwell, NJ, Substantial damage. Pilot rotated too early, went into a stall, retracted gear and tried to land.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
