THE PLT REPORTED THAT HE LEFT THE CARBURETOR HEAT ON & LEFT THE FLAPS IN A 2/3 EXTENEDED POSTION. AS HE CONTINUED THE GO-AROUND, HE MANUEVERED THE ACFT TO AVOID HITTING A POLE. IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER, THE LEFT WING TIP STRUCK SNOW COVERED GROUND & THE ACFT CARTWHEELED TO A STOP. THE ELEVATION OF THE ARPT WAS 6202 FT. THE PLT HAD RECENTLY RECEIVED HIS PRIVATE PLT CERTIFICATE & HAD JUST CHECKED OUT IN THIS MAKE & MODEL OF ACFT.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19840415013559A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19840415013559A), Apr 15, 1984: Gulstm AA5B, Driggs, ID, Destroyed. Aircraft porpoised during landing and pilot attempted go around but wing hit ground causing cartwheel type crash.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
