## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Overrun, landing - roll
  - proper touchdown point - exceeded, pilot in command (cause)
  - lack of recent experience in kind of aircraft, pilot in command (contributing factor)
  - recovery from bounced landing - not attained, pilot in command (cause)
  - go-around - delayed, pilot in command (cause)
- On ground/water collision with object, landing - roll
  - distance - misjudged, pilot in command (cause)

## Analysis

THE ACFT BOUNCED DURING TOUCHDOWN SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ATTENDING TO LAND ON THE WATER. THE ACFT WAS TOO CLOSE TO A DAM TO MAKE A GO-AROUND. THE ACFT THEN STRUCK THE DAM HEAD ON.

## Other investigations on N2582P (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA89LA166](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA89LA166), Sep 8, 1989: Consolidated Aeronautics LAKE-LA-4-200 (N2582P), Klawock, AK, destroyed. Probable cause: THE PILOT MISJUDGED THE AIRCRAFT HEIGHT ABOVE WATER WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON A LAKE. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS THE SMOOTH, GLASSY WATER SURFACE CONDITIONS ON THE LAKE.
