## Probable cause

THE PILOT'S FAILURE TO ENSURE AN ADEQUATE SUPPLY OF FUEL, WHICH RESULTED IN FUEL EXHAUSTION.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of engine power(total) - nonmechanical, descent - normal
  - fluid,fuel - exhaustion (cause)
  - fuel supply - inadequate, pilot in command (cause)
- Forced landing, descent - emergency
- In flight collision with object, landing - flare/touchdown

## Analysis

THE PILOT REDUCED POWER TO DESCEND FOR LANDING AT HIS AIRSTRIP AFTER COMPLETING AN AERIAL APPLICATION FLIGHT AND THE ENGINE QUIT DUE TO FUEL EXHAUSTION. THE ACFT IMPACTED AGRICULTURAL IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT DURING THE ENSUING FORCED LANDING.
