## Analysis

DURING A SOLO INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT, THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PRACTICING TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS. WHEN THE AIRPLANE TOUCHED DOWN FOR THE THIRD LANDING, IT VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND WENT OFF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRPLANE THEN NOSED OVER IN SOFT SOIL. A POST-CRASH INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE WAS PARTIALLY SET, WHICH LOCKED THE RIGHT WHEEL. THE STUDENT PILOT INDICATED THAT SHE HAD NOT USED THE PARKING BRAKE AT ANY TIME (BEFORE OR DURING THE FLIGHT).

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19910702025649A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19910702025649A), Jul 2, 1991: Cessna 152, Richland, WA, Substantial damage. Veered off runway on touchdown. Nose gear dug in. Caused noseover. Right brake locked by parking brake partly on.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
