## Probable cause

THE FAILURE OF THE PILOT TO ATTAIN THE PROPER TOUCHDOWN POINT FOR LANDING. A FACTOR RELATING TO THE ACCIDENT WAS THE POOR BRAKING CONDITIONS ON THE WET GRASS STRIP.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Overrun, landing - roll
  - proper touchdown point - not attained, pilot in command (cause)
  - terrain condition - grass (contributing factor)
  - terrain condition - wet (contributing factor)
- On ground/water encounter with terrain/water, landing - roll

## Analysis

THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON A 1200 FT. LONG, WET, GRASS AIR STRIP, TOUCHED DOWN PAST MIDFIELD, AND WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP ON THE STRIP. THE ACFT OVERRAN THE END OF THE STRIP AND IMPACTED TERRAIN.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19920118000699A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920118000699A), Jan 18, 1992: Tcraft BC12D, Chehalis, WA, Substantial damage. Landed long and fast on wet grass strip. Unable to stop, slid off end and over a cliff.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
