## Probable cause

THE PILOT IN COMMAND'S FAILURE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. A FACTOR CONTRIBUTING TO THE ACCIDENT WAS GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Nose over, landing - roll
  - weather condition - gusts (contributing factor)
  - aircraft control - not maintained, pilot in command (cause)

## Analysis

THE PILOT REPORTED HAVING JUST COMPLETED A LANDING ON RUNWAY 16 AND WAS TAXIING AT A SPEED EQUIVALENT TO 'A BRISK WALK' WHEN A GUST OF WIND BLEW THE AIRCRAFT UP ON ITS RIGHT WINGTIP AND THEN OVER ON ITS NOSE.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19920208002269A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920208002269A), Feb 8, 1992: Tcraft BC1265, Salt Lake City, UT, Substantial damage. Aircraft nosed over while taxiing on runway. Pilot stated a wind gust was too strong and blew plane over.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
