## Probable cause

THE PILOT'S IMPROPER RECOVERY FROM A BOUNCED LANDING. A FACTOR WAS THE POORLY PLANNED APPROACH.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - on ground/water, landing - flare/touchdown
  - planned approach - poor, pilot in command (contributing factor)
  - lack of total experience, pilot in command (contributing factor)
  - recovery from bounced landing - inadequate, pilot in command (cause)
- Nose gear collapsed, landing - flare/touchdown

## Analysis

WHILE ON FINAL APPROACH, THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE AIRPLANE DESCENDED BELOW THE GLIDE SLOPE SO POWER WAS ADDED. THE PILOT FELT THAT EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL FOR THE LANDING; HOWEVER, WHEN THE AIRPLANE TOUCHED DOWN, IT BOUNCED, AND THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED.
