## Analysis

The pilot had just purchased the airplane, but in the past had owned and flown a similar model. He was on his fourth attempted landing at his first stopover point. The airplane bounced, and the right wing contacted the ground, sustaining substantial damage. The airplane veered off the right side of runway 19. The pilot tapped the brakes and the airplane came to rest nose down.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 20090307013549A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20090307013549A), Mar 7, 2009: Amtr RV4, Santa Rosa, CA, Substantial damage. (-23) Aircraft bounced on landing and veered off runway.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
