## Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain BAE Systems (Operations) Limited Model BAE 146 series airplanes. This proposal would require repetitive inspections to detect cracking of the horizontal butt joint of the rear pressure bulkhead and repair, as necessary. This proposal also would require installation of new joint plates on the aft face of the rear pressure bulkhead, which would terminate the repetitive inspections. This action is necessary to prevent cracking of the horizontal butt joint of the rear pressure bulkhead, which could result in reduced structural integrity of the airplane. This action is intended to address the identified unsafe condition.
