## Summary

This document proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) that would apply to Fairchild Aircraft SA226 and SA227 series airplanes. The proposed action would require modifying the electrical power generation system. Three reports of both generators going off- line on the affected airplanes while in-flight prompted this action. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to prevent failure of both generators during critical phases of flight (such as night operation or while in icing conditions), which could result in loss of control of the airplane.
