## Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to all Airbus Model A300-600 series airplanes. This proposal would require an inspection to detect cracks of certain attachment holes; and installation of a new fastener and follow-on inspections or repair, if necessary. This proposal is prompted by reports of fatigue cracking found on the forward fitting of frame 47 at the level of the last fastener of the external angle fitting. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to prevent such fatigue cracking, which could result in reduced structural integrity of the airframe.
