## Summary

This document revises an earlier proposed airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to all Airbus Model A310 series airplanes, that would have required various inspections to detect fatigue cracks at certain locations on the fuselage, horizontal stabilizer, and wings and tail, and repair or modification, if necessary; and installation of doublers. That proposal was prompted by results of full-scale fatigue testing of a ModelA310 series airplane, which revealed fatigue cracks at those locations. This new action revises the proposed rule by adding new inspections and reducing certain inspection intervals. The actions specified by this new proposed AD are intended to prevent reduced structural integrity of the fuselage, horizontal stabilizer, and wings.
