## Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to all McDonnell Douglas Model DC-10- 15 airplanes. This proposal would require, among other things, inspections to detect discrepancies at various locations of pylons 1 and 3, and correction of any discrepancy found. This proposal is prompted by a report of internal structural damage to the wing engine pylon that occurred during maintenance of a Model DC-10 series airplane. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to ensure the integrity of the structure and attachment of the wing engine pylon.
