## Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to all Airbus Model A300, A310, and A300-600 series airplanes. This proposal would require a one-time inspection of the autopilot actuators on the pitch and yaw controls to ensure correct rigging, and re-rigging, if necessary. This proposal is prompted by a report of sudden pitch up of an airplane during cruise following disengagement of the autopilot; this condition was the result of incorrect rigging of the autopilot pitch actuator. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to prevent incorrect rigging of the autopilot actuators on the pitch and yaw controls, which could result in reduced controllability of the airplane.
