## Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain de Havilland Model DHC-8- 100, -200, and -300 series airplanes. This proposal would require repetitive inspections of certain refuel/defuel tube assemblies in the engine nacelles for fuel leakage, and corrective action, if necessary. It would also require eventual modification of all tube assemblies, which would terminate the repetitive inspections. This proposal is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to prevent fuel leaks and consequent increased risk of engine fires.
