## Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain EMBRAER Model EMB-145 series airplanes. This proposal would require inspection of the main landing gear (MLG) bushing seats to detect cracks, and repair of the bushing hole or replacement of strut bushings with new bushings, if necessary. This proposal also would require replacement of the plain bearings of the MLG shock absorber with new bearings. This proposal is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to prevent structural failure of the MLG due to fatigue cracking of the strut bushing seat.
