## Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain Dornier Model 328-100 series airplanes. This proposal would require a one-time visual inspection to detect cracking in the axle adapter of the shock absorber of the nose landing gear (NLG), and corrective actions, if necessary. This proposal is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to correct cracking in the axle adapter of the shock absorber of the NLG, which could result in failure of the NLG and consequent damage to the airplane structure.
