## Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain Boeing Model 777-200 series airplanes. This proposal would require replacement of certain components. This action is necessary to prevent corrosion of the axle of the main landing gear, which could result in cracking and failure of the axle, loss of the wheels on that axle, and reduced controllability of the airplane on the ground. This action is intended to address the identified unsafe condition.
