## Summary

We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This proposed AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI references Latinoamericana de Aviacion S.A. Service Bulletin No. 25/53/03, dated May 10, 2006, which describes the unsafe condition as:

REAR AND FORWARD SUPPORTS OF BOTH HORIZONTAL STABILIZER MODIFICATION. It have been found on several of the affected airplanes some severe corrosion and cracks in both supports. The probable cause for those failures is the accumulation of steam or application products vapors.

The proposed AD would require actions that are intended to address the unsafe condition described in the MCAI.
