## Summary

We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This proposed AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:

There have been a number of incidents where wing-to-fuselage or MLG [main landing gear] door fairing panels have detached from the aircraft during flight. Subsequent inspection revealed the loss of the fairing panels to be due to failure of certain steel grommets * * *.

A detaching panel could strike the aircraft during flight, causing damage. In addition, a detaching panel could become attached to the structure or control surfaces, resulting in reduced control of the aircraft.

The proposed AD would require actions that are intended to address the unsafe condition described in the MCAI.
