## Summary

The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Rolls-Royce Corporation (RRC) AE 2100D3 model turboprop engines. This proposed AD was prompted by an in-flight shutdown (IFSD) of an engine and subsequent investigation by the manufacturer that revealed a crack in the 3rd-stage compressor wheel. This proposed AD would require replacement of the affected 3rd-stage compressor wheel. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
