No. ACE-99-13 January 11, 1999

Published by: FAA, AFS-610, P.O. Box 26460, Oklahoma City, OK 73125 This is issued for informational purposes only and any recommendation for corrective action is not mandatory.

Introduction The purpose of this Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin is to advise owners/operators of certain SOCATA Morane Saulnier (M.S.) and Rallye Series airplanes of the need to review the service bulletins listed below. These airplanes are those type certificated by type certificate and type certificate data sheet 7A14.

Background The Small Airplane Directorate, Aircraft Certification Se rvice, of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) conducted a review of specified SOCATA Morane Saulnier (M.S.) and Rallye Series airplanes service bulletins. The purpose of the review was to evaluate each service bu lletin to determine the continued airwor thiness safety aspect. The options considered by the FAA included: mandated compliance by initiation of an FAA Airworthiness Directive (AD), various forms of notices, or no further action required.

Owners/operators of SOCATA Morane Saulnier (M.S.) and Rally e Series airplanes should also note that there have been Airworthiness Directives issued against these airplanes concerning other safety issues.

Recommendations The service bulletins identified in this document were not considered appropriate for AD action at this time, however, the FAA strongly suggests that all owners/operators of the SOCA TA Morane Saulnier (M.S.) and Rallye Series airplanes review their compliance with the service bulletins listed below.
