AIRCRAFT LANDED BACK IN TOLEDO DUE TO PILOT SIDE ALTIMETER INOPERATIVE IN CLIMB-OUT.  TRANSPONDER WOULD NOT ENCODE.  REMOVED AND REPLACED PILOT SIDE ENCODING ALTIMETER.  (X)
