## Discrepancy

FLT 9158 - NAS - AFTER TAKEOFF, SMOKE IN COCKPIT FROM TRANSPONDER FACE PANEL.  RETURNED TO NAS.  LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.  FOUND TRANSPONDER CONTROL HEAD BURNED INTERNALLY.  REMOVED AND REPLACED CONTROL HEAD.  NO DEFECTS NOTED.  (M)
