DURING A HEAVY MAINTENANCE VISIT, WHILE PERFORMING A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE L2 DOOR STOP FITTING AND EWIS INSPECTION IAW TASK CARD ZL-833-04-1-GLX, THE L2 ESCAPE SLIDE INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED UPON DOOR CLOSURE. THE DEPLOYED SLIDE ASSEMBLY WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A SERVICEABLE OVERHAULED UNIT. THE APPLICABLE MAINTENANCE TASKS WERE SUBSEQUENTLY RE-ACCOMPLISHED, AND OPERATIONAL CHECKS WERE COMPLETED WITH NO FURTHER ANOMALIES NOTED. AT THE TIME OF THIS REPORT, THE AIRCRAFT REMAINS IN HEAVY MAINTENANCE AND HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED TO SERVICE. THE MAINTENANCE VISIT IS ONGOING.
