## Discrepancy

DURING INSPECTION, FOUND SNAP RINGS THAT RETAIN THE BEARINGS FOR THE ENGINE VSV (VARIABLE STATOR VANE) ACTUATION CRANKSHAFT TO BE CORRODED. UPON GENERATING A NON ROUTINE, & DEALING WITH PARTS SOURCING DIFFICULTY. UPON LOOKING AS THE SNAP RINGS ON DIFFERENT ENGINE, FOUND THOSE WERE ALSO CORRODED AND WERE UNABLE TO USE THAT CRANKSHAFT ASSEMBLY. DECISION HAD BEEN MADE TO DO AN ENGINE CHANGE. ONCE THE REPLACEMENT ENGINE ARRIVED, IT WAS ALSO FOUND THE HAVE CORRODED SNAP RINGS IN THE VSV CRANKSHAFT BEARING HOUSINGS. THIS APPEARS TO BE A SYSTEMIC ISSUE.
