## Discrepancy

UPON TAKEOFF ROLL ON RUNWAY 33 AT X04, PILOTS WENT TO APPLY BACK PRESSURE ON THE YOKE TO BEGIN ROTATION AT 80KIAS AND REPORTED LACK OF AUTHORITY / CONTROL OF THE HORIZONTAL STABILATOR AND ABORTED TAKEOFF. PILOTS TAXI'D BACK TO TAXIWAY A4 AND SQUAWKED / GROUNDED THE AIRCRAFT. UPON INSPECTION, OBSERVED THE CABLE HAD SHEARED / BROKEN JUST AFT OF THE TURNBUCKLE. WHERE THE MALE END OF THE LOWER STABILATOR CABLE'S SAFETY WIRE HOLE IS LOCATED. NO EXTERNAL CORROSION WAS PRESENT BUT UPON FURTHER INSPECTION IT APPEARED ALMOST AS IF THERE WAS POTENTIALLY INTERNAL CORROSION THAT WAS NOT EXTERNALLY VISIBLE WHERE THE EYELET SHEARED / BROKE. REMOVED AND REPLACED BOTH UPPER AND LOWER AFT STABILATOR CABLES WITH 2 NEW PIPER UNITS P/N: 62701-162 & P/N: 62701-153. NO FURTHER DEFECTS NOTED.
