## Discrepancy

RECEIVED TWO NEW DIAPHRAGM-TYPE ENGINE DRIVEN FUEL PUMPS, P/N AF-15472 WITH SERIAL NUMBERS 1PX120 AND 1PRN03, THE POROSITY OF THESE CASTED FUEL PUMPS IS POOR, NOR DID THE MACHINING CLEAN UP THE MACHINED SURFACES. BOTH PUMPS WERE VISUALLY INSPECTED AND REJECTED OUT OF THE BOX. THE SPOTFACES, CHAMFERS, AND BORES OF THE INLET AND OUTLET PORTS AND THE FACES THAT SHOULD BE MACHINED FLAT TO BOLT UP TO THE ENGINE CAN'T MEET THE PMA STANDARDS ON THE DRAWINGS FOR FLATNESS AND SURFACE FINISH. THESE VISIBLE AREAS LOOK BAD, THEN THE MACHINED FACES THAT SANDWICH AGAINST THE DIAPHRAGMS AREN'T FLAT AND TRUE EITHER. I DID NOT DISASSEMBLE THE PUMPS TO CHECK THE DIAPHRAGM MATING SURFACES DUE TO WARRANTY CLAIM AS-IS. THESE PARTS ARE FAA/PMA UNDER PMA NUMBER PO1206CE SUPPLEMENT 65.
